Trading My Sorrow....

I came into the office with an expectant heart – anxiously waiting to hear her good news. But instead I witnessed tears of despair. She cried. My heart sank. The story meant to have a happily-ever-after ending but a sudden twist of fate occurred.

She excitedly shared her secret with me – she found companionship with a guy who is mature in everyway except his age. He is 3 years younger but he had a career ahead of him. He expressed interest in an engagement. She was delighted. I could see it in her eyes. Agonizingly, she had to obtain her parents’ approval but she was confident with the openness of her family. I urged her to share the joyous news. She agreed.

How could one not know what her child’s desires are? How can she be denied of love?

She was saddened and I was speechless. I did not know how to console her. I shared with her an e-card, encouraging her that all will be better. I was glad sense a tinge of cheer in her mail.

Here’s my prayer for her:

Heavenly Father, I commit her unto Your hands;
For You are able to give her peace of mind, joy at heart and strength at soul;
Do hear her cries.
I pray for her parents to have an understanding heart, recognizing her needs;
Supporting her in everyway.
I pray for her companion to have patient and for him to stand by her when she needs him most.
Take care of my friend, Lord.
Thank You, Lord.
