What Happened Since June 2006?

Loads happened.. But haven't gotten the chance to post these eventful moments. Let's do a count-down:

10. Business trip to Manila - first time to the Philippines.
Forewarned about the condition of certain areas - poor, rowdy, crowded. But it was an experiential trip. The people were friendly, the malls are strategically located and thanks to my company, the hotel I was entitled to was at top notch.

9. Business trip cum holiday-with-hubby to HK.
Was sent to HK for a 5-hour assignment at a hospital and had spent the other 4 days shopping, tasting their much talked about cuisine, visiting their very own Disneyland, Madamme Tussaud and admire their night view right at the top of The Peak.

8. Blessed complimentary hotel-stay at the Cameron Highlands Resort, overseeing the golf course.
Pampered by the most comfortable king-sized bed furnished with a canopy-like roof and to top that up - pink and champagne coloured fresh rose petals brought life to its' white sheets. Managed to catch a glimpse of the strawberry park, was mesmerised by the BOH tea plantation, and had sweat it out in the midst of the cool breeze while enjoying a great steamboat dinner just-for-2 and had a galore time 'marketing' at a day & night market.

7. Job interview as a Medical Journalist
A bittersweet experience (but never did end quite sweetly). Experienced an amazing lapse of 7 months before being called for an interview. Thereafter another time lapse (totally lost count) for a seoncd interview after handing in a written assignment. There was no response when inquired on the outcome of my written assignment. It was truly a test of waiting. After the 2nd interview, was assured of a respond within the next week but still yet to hear from them till now. Did and am actually still pondering on His purpose for such an experience - to recognise His timing / intentions (you'll understand this better as you read on...)

6. Change of role/ responsibility at work
Prayer after prayer for a new job brought me to a "new role" at my current working place. Instead of travelling around hospitals, checking on their records and monitor the conduct of a trial, I've taken over a surveillance role. Checking on reporting of adverse events, a definite desk-job... Unsure of whether it's of a better fit but all I can tell you is that I'm still dreading the mondays, tuesdays, wednesdays and thursdays but am getting better in handling the fridays. :)

5. Another job interview as a writer.
Yes, another try! But yet another similar experience. Initially, it was really as though He has finally heard and answered my prayer. Yes, it took them awhile (afew months) before I was called for an interview. It was a rather informal interview - friendly and passionate bunch of ppl. Felt a tad intimidated but nevertheless the passion to write was reignited. And it did sound alittle promising with yet another assurance of a soon-to-get phone notification. But it has been already a month or so and still no news... Lesson learnt? - still searching.. At times I wonder - I have taken the step of faith to think and step out of the box (my comfort zone) but am faced with yet another 'battle' of its' own...

4. Navigator's 2:7
A bible study / discipleship group. Definitely a life-changing moment. The in-depth learning of God's word, close fellowship with other brothers and sisters in Christ, and having a prayer group has definitely helped me to grow in Christ. Am encouraged by this burning desire to learn more and to know Him better. Am praying for Him to sustain me as I am still being discipled.

3. Honeymoon at Mauritius
A 7-day trip to Mauritius. My very first time on first class - was upgraded due to the flight's overbooking. :) The beach was so beautiful.. but those who know me well enough would know how "passionate" I am for the beach - being hydrophobic and tend to be restless when trying to relax under the basking sun, it was not as one would have imagined. So we totally maximised our time on daytours (feel sorry for my newlywed husband who prefers the beach and his book). But it wasn't too bad - we went in a submarine, saw a volcanic crater, 7-coloured earth, waterfalls, and came back with a tan from the catamarand. It wasn't the usual romance-ful trip but it was nevertheless a great holiday.

2. Our New HOME
We've finally moved and are still surviving 'out there' on our own.. :) Each time I stepped into our new home - a surge of blessedness and thankfulness sweeps over me. Thank You, Lord! Excitedly 'building' this new home - giving 'it' life, warmth, and 'attitude' .. :)

1. Our WEDDING!!
On Dec., 16, 2006 - there was the exchange of marriage vows and wedding rings; one of the most sacred ceremony one may experience in a church. There were much fun and laughter as well as joyous sharing of family ties and friendship during the occasion. Above all, it was a time of union between 2 soulmates in His presense - witnessing with gladness. Would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you who has shared your time and presence during this occasion. Without all of you, it would not have been such a memorable and heartwarming event of my life!!
